HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ann Kupferberg!

Aug 19, 2015

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN and THANK YOU for your generosity to NDIA!  The scholarship your family created in Melissa's name has made it possible for so many investigators to attend the NDIA conferences who otherwise would not have been able to attend.

For those not familiar with Ann...Betsy Biben, the Chief of the Office of Rehabilitation and Development for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, added the following:

Ann retired as head of the lower school of the progressive, highly respected private school, The  Barnesville School in Montgomery County, Maryland.   She and her husband, Steve, who unfortunately passed, resided in Frederick County, Maryland where they raised two wonderful children, Melissa and Andy, and sweet Labrador dogs. Before Ann retired, they began building a home in the Leesburg, Florida community, close to their beloved Melissa.  Ann and Melissa were best friends and spoke every day as they traveled to work.  An extraordinary mother, wife, friend, and all around person, Ann raised and last year completed training for her dog, Daisy, to become a comfort dog, for elementary school children.  She and Daisy visits school libraries where Daisy joins the laps of children as the librarian reads during story time.  Since moving to Florida, Ann has immersed herself in other volunteer activities including Meals on Wheels.

The members of the NDIA thank you Ann and wish you a happy Birthday today!
