The National Defender Investigator Association (NDIA) is the only international organization to represent a constituency dedicated solely to the investigative arm of indigent defense.
Important Conference Update!
GOOD NEWS!
The Riviera Hotel has notifed NDIA that the room rate for our National Conference has been lowered from the current rate of $79 to $65 per night (plus tax.)
It is important to NDIA that all attendees book their rooms directly through the Riviera. Be sure to indicate you are with the NDIA room block in order to get the $65 rate.
All attendees who have already booked their rooms will automatically be given the $65 rate. If you have any questions call Beverly Davidson at the NDIA office 860-635-5533.

The Federal Judicial Center is holding a national seminar for federal defender investigators and paralegal specialists on April 7, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada (immediately preceding the National Defender Investigator Association conference scheduled from April 8-9). The program is being developed in conjunction with an advisory group of investigators and paralegal specialists and the AO Office of Defender Services. An agenda and further information will be sent to all registrants as the program draws nearer.
The NDIA planning committee is developing its conference April 8-9 to contain a variety of subjects to meet the needs of paralegal specialists as well as investigators. Participants in the NDIA conference must register directly with NDIA and pay tuition in advance or at the conference. A registration form is available at NDIA’s website (ndia.net). In planning your travel, please note that the FJC seminar will begin Wednesday, April 7 at 8:30 a.m. and the NDIA seminar will conclude Friday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.
The taxi fare from McCarran International Aiport is about $20.00.

Our special group rate is $79.00 single occupancy (less than government per diem rate). C. REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENDITURES: As you know, funds to attend educational programs are contained in your office budgets. The per diem rate for this conference (using $79.00 hotel cost + $71.00 M&IE) is $150.00 ($71.00 for the last day of travel).

2010 NDIA National Conference Raffle
The next raffle will take place at the 2010 NDIA National Conference in Las Vegas, NV, during the President's Reception. The top prize will be a limited edition, hand-numbered glicee print entitled "Mallards of Mattamuskeet" by North Carolina artist Mike Helsabeck. In addition to the print, a multitude of other prizes will be raffled off so make sure to purchase your raffle tickets at the Conference before the drawing begins!
